Taxidermy,what all do i need to mount my own fish at home and how do i do it, how much will it cost?
there are mount your own fish kits for like $40, I've seen them at fleet farm. but any ways you need Styrofoam and you carve the body, you use the fins, head,skin, and tail off the fish or you can buy all the fish parts. most taxidermist use an air brush for painting. the only thing that might be pricey is the painting, otherwise most of it comes off the fish. i would think it shouldn't cost more than $50 to do a few fish.
if you go on youtube there's video instructions, here's a site that you can buy parts, tools manuels, paints, and exc. for your first fish start with a small fish like a panfish, not one you really want on the wall. good luck i'm also looking into doing some taxidermy.
